Jim Blackstock is an American photographer living in Dundee, Scotland. He is interested in architecture, design, language, and Austrian economics. He is at his best when collaborating with his wife Lena, solving design problems and making images with intention and purpose.
Jim Blackstock’s work explores the means by which we, as human beings, create lasting impressions of the past and how our version of the truth is merely the rehashing of a personal narrative to fit preconceived ideas and current place and time. We search for meaning in feelings that have long since dissolved and create structured memories that are always just out of reach yet encapsulate the zeitgeist of our formative moments.
